0%There is no universal daily budget for testing Meta ad creative. The amount your batch can support depends on your target CPA and how much spend you want to make available before making a decision.
That makes creative testing a capacity-planning problem.
Define the batch before the budget
Separate concepts from variations. A concept is a distinct customer insight or selling idea. A variation changes the execution: opening shot, spokesperson, proof beat, headline, or edit.
Creative count = concepts × variations per concept
Four concepts with three variations each creates a batch of 12 ads. That is strategically different from 12 minor edits of one idea.
Choose a decision-spend threshold
Express the amount you want available per creative as a multiple of target CPA:
Decision spend = target CPA × selected multiple
This is a planning threshold, not an automatic kill rule. Choose it explicitly based on your account, signal quality, conversion lag, and risk tolerance.
Calculate capacity
Available budget = daily testing budget × test days
Supported creatives = available budget ÷ decision spend
If a seven-day test has 1,400 available and decision spend is 100 per creative, the model supports 14 creatives. If the requested batch is larger, divide it into waves or increase the budget and duration.
Use the free Meta Creative Testing Budget Planner to calculate the batch, supported creatives, required budget, and testing waves. You can download the result as a plain-text brief.
Why the result is not a delivery guarantee
Meta optimizes delivery and does not promise to split spend evenly across ads. Some creatives may receive much more exposure than others. The model helps prevent an obviously overloaded test; actual decisions still require delivery and conversion data.
A better test plan gives each idea a realistic chance to produce evidence while keeping concepts distinct enough that the next creative decision is clear.
